I use a wide variety of instruments to create a landscape of overlapping and resonant frequencies.
- You lie down and listen. You typically lie on a mat with blankets and eye masks, letting the sound waves wash over you or you can sit in a comfortable position. Unlike music with a fixed melody, sound bath frequencies are intentionally less structured to discourage analysis by the brain and encourage a deeper state of relaxation.
- Vibrations affect the body. The therapeutic sound waves are meant to be felt physically, not just heard. As the sound creates vibrations in the air, those vibrations also travel through your body, which is composed mostly of water. This process is believed to help the body return to a state of harmony.
- Brainwaves are altered. The rhythmic sounds can cause a shift in brainwave patterns, moving you from an active "beta" state to more relaxed states like "alpha," "theta," or "delta." This transition promotes deep relaxation and a dreamlike consciousness.
- The nervous system is calmed. The resonant frequencies are thought to activate your parasympathetic nervous system, which governs the body's "rest-and-digest" mode, where your body begins the healing process. This helps to slow your breathing, decrease your heart rate and blood pressure, and ease stress.
- Gather a group of friends or colleagues up to 6 or more at a set cost. If more than 6 will be attending then each additional guest will pay for themselves. The sound bath can be at you home or studio or I can host it here at my home outside, weather permitting. See below for pricing.
